Sting

Sting, pseudonimo di Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner (Wallsend, 2 ottobre 1951), è un cantautore, polistrumentista e attore inglese, che ha esordito come membro dei The Police per poi intraprendere una carriera solista di successo. Le sue influenze musicali includono rock, jazz, reggae, musica classica, new-age e worldbeat. Come cantante solista e membro dei Police, nella sua carriera Sting ha ricevuto 16 Grammy Awards, 3 BRIT Awards e un Golden Globe. È stato inoltre candidato 4 volte per l’Oscar alla migliore canzone nel 2001, 2002, 2004 e 2017 per i film Le follie dell’imperatore, Kate & Leopold , Ritorno a Cold Mountain e Jim: The James Foley Story. Sting ha venduto in totale oltre 100 milioni di dischi nel mondo tra Police e carriera solista.
