Godflesh

I Godflesh sono un gruppo industrial metal inglese di Birmingham. Si formarono nel 1982 con il nome O.P.D. (poi Fall of Because), ma non pubblicarono nessun album fino al 1988 (escluso un demo del 1986 intitolato Extirpate), quando Justin Broadrick (chitarra, voce e programmazione) e B.C. Green (basso) decisero di rinominare la band e di utilizzare una drum machine per le percussioni. Fondendo l’heavy metal con la musica industriale e successivamente con la musica elettronica e il dub, il suono dei Godflesh è da molti considerato come un’influenza fondamentale per altri gruppi industrial metal e post-metal e come significativo per il metal sperimentale ed estremo.
