Exanimatvm

Exanimatvm was founded in 2013 in the city Punta Arenas, Chile, by Enzo (guitars, bass). The intention of creating Death Metal that is as dark as it is raw was the incitement behind the project; and so, later that year, Ivan Barraza (vocals) joined. Immediately, EXANIMATVM recorded the first demo, called “Negra Iniciación”. Because of the ‘project’-status back in those days, a drum computer was used to accompany the instruments of the members. In 2014 EXANIMATVM decided to look for members to play live: Soon Claudio Muñoz (drums) and Demis Ferreira (bass) joined and quickly became full-fledged members. After some live gigs the band considered themselves to be well established and began to record the EP “Diaboli Gratia” (2014). It contained new recordings of the tracks presented on the first demo plus one new song. This release shaped the musical orientation of the band, being deeply rooted in foul and godless depths, so that an excellent act of Death Metal, dark and thus totally typical for the southern climate, could be released. Nowadays the band consists of Enzo and Kree-Chinen on guitars, Demis on vocals and bass and Claudio on drums. Their first album, “Dispersae et Tormentvm” has been released in 2016 and has scored high in every review it has received – this is, because it contains the most overdue return to the original merits of Death Metal: riffing, darkness and death!
